Like many old-school graphic designers, I have been fond of kraft paper for many years. It was a huge trend to follow in the early 90s thanks to designer Charles Anderson and French Paper Company. I dug up this old shot of the Christmas promotion I designed for my design firm back then that I sent out to clients and vendors, (which actually from French Paper Company!) Now that I’ve moved more into crafting, I’m still very fond of same natural kraft material so easily available from along with some other really cool natural canvas, burlap and other unique products. Here’s the great papers and embellishments that they sponsored for the swag bags:
Lovely designed papers from their featuring gourmet wording, recipe cards and cool kitchen graphics. They included some great prints on white and cream, just in time as those photos are just coming out of most scrappers’ printers! They have some really great everyday patterns like my favorite, the .How brilliant are these with twine ties? And sweet mini clothespins, just the right size embellishement clips. There are so many lovely things being crafted with their products- you can see many of them on their page and the . You can purchase Canvas Corp products on and .

Their wood and rubber stamps are going to be fun to use not only for ink stamping- with such beautiful designs, but I’m looking forward to trying them out for embossing velvet, something you can’t do with acrylic stamps. You can find my velvet embossing projects and .
I was excited to bring some craft kits to the scrap retreat since scrapping the whole weekend can get a bit overwhelming if you don’t break it up a bit. The EK Success brand, , has beautiful accessory project kits and so for the swag bags they sponsored:
and
I think these would make wonderful holiday gift kits for tween & teen girls. They would also be good for them to have early enough to make accessories as gifts for their friends. Of course ladies of any age would love this kit as well as a flower accessories crafted from it.
One of the retreat scrappers used her kit to add a beautiful chiffon bloom to her scrapbook layout featuring her own teenage daughter.
Now we’re on to one of my favorite craft brands and one of my most important craft studio tools,
Martha Stewart Crafts have been an enormous gift to the crafting industry. So many high quality and beautifully engineered products, so little time. I was turned on to the by my friend, professional stylist & crafter some time ago when we were working on some product prototypes together. Now that I have the board I am constantly coming up with things to score! I think of all the years of my life designing and crafting that this would have been a Godsend. For creating accordion-folded prize ribbon rosettes the is indispensable. If you do any paper crafting at all, you! need! this! board!
There is so much going on over at the and so much to be inspired by. Here are just a few necessary links for you to bookmark to keep up on all the amazing ideas, techniques, products and tools:
