Maintaining Healthy Blood Sugar Levels

Maintaining Healthy Sugar (Glucose) Levels.  Herbal Supplements to the Rescue.

Are you concerned with maintaining healthy Sugar (Glucose) & Insulin Levels, and with imbalances associated with High Blood Sugar or Diabetic Related Complications? Several herbs support healthy metabolic function and help maintain healthy blood sugar levels and insulin function.  These include Cinnamomum aromaticum Bark Extract, Gymnema Leaf Extract, Fenugreek Seed Extract, Bilberry or Blueberry Leaf Extract (i.e. chlorogenic acid), green coffee extract (i.e. chlorogenic acid), Gingko Biloba and Stevia.

Cinnamon bark Extract: Cinnamon triples insulin’s efficiency by activating insulin and glucose transport, improving sugar metabolism.

Gymnema leaf Extract:  Traditionally gymnema has been used to assist the pancreas in the production of insulin. Gymnema is thought to improve the ability of insulin to lower blood sugar levels. Gymnema may decrease cravings for sweets and salt. Fenugreek Extract:  Clinical studies have demonstrated the anti-diabetic properties of fenugreek seeds.  Fenugreek has been shown to lower high blood sugar.

Bilberry leaf or Blueberry leaf Extract:   Leaves of the bilberry or Blueberry have a long history of folk use to assist the balance of blood sugar. The active ingredient is chlorogenic acid which blocks glucose production of tissues.  Bilberry or Blueberry may lower the risk of some complications associated with blood sugar imbalance such as cataracts and retinopathy. Green Coffee Extract:  contains chlorogenic acid which blocks glucose production of tissues.  Ginkgo leaf Extract:  Ginkgo biloba may be useful for blood sugar balance by improving circulation. Stevia leaf: Stevia has been used traditionally for blood sugar imbalance. Some early reports suggested that stevia might have beneficial effects on glucose tolerance (and therefore potentially help with blood sugar imbalance). Stevia is non-caloric with a pleasingly sweet taste.
