Low Blood Sugar Healthy Person

This blog is mainly going to cover type 2 diabetes. However, in this first post we will briefly discuss type 1, type 2, and Gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, and is sometimes known as juvenile diabetes. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. There is no cure for type 1 diabetes, it can be somewhat managed with proper treatment.

In type 2 diabetes, your body does not use insulin properly. At first the pancreas will produce more insulin to compensate for this. Over time the body isn’t able to make enough insulin to keep up and blood sugar levels rise. Type 2 diabetes is preventable and reversible with proper treatment.

Pregnant women who have never had diabetes before but who have high blood glucose levels during pregnancy are said to have gestational diabetes. It is estimated that gestational diabetes affects 18% of pregnancies. With proper management, this will not become a lifelong issue.

The following is a youtube video which goes into more details about the disease.
