- Did you know drinking water can lower your blood sugar levels if they are high?
- If your blood sugar levels drop low and you feel light headed, have a shaky feeling or dizziness, grab a hard candy, orange juice, a spoonful of jelly or jam to “spike” (raise your levels back up). Always try to keep a few pieces of hard candy nearby just in case. You never know.
- Out and about? Feeling hungry and just starting to feel that “shakiness” coming on? Stop at your local convenient store grab a tomato juice and a hard roll. It will actually fill you up. I’ve done this several times and it has worked for me. If you don’t like tomato juice try water or flavored water. I don’t particularly care for just plain old water, so I buy those little flavored packets or containers and add a few drops and you’re good to go.
