Coq10 May Affect Blood Sugar Levels

WHAT’S A PERSONALISED DIET?

For years, failing to lose weight while on a diet has been put down to a simple lack of willpower. Now researchers have discovered that our bodies are unique in their response to a wide range of everyday foods and so we respond also very differently to assigned diets. “What’s a personalised diet”, is a question which has risen strongly up in the light of these new findings.

THE MAIN REASON OF DIET FAILURE

When we eat, our body converts carbohydrates into blood sugar (glucose), our main source of energy. Blood sugar levels can affect how hungry and energetic we feel. Glucose also determines whether we burn fat or store it.

If we eat carbohydrate- rich foods lacking fibre our insulin level decreases below normal. This leaves us feeling tired and lethargic and wanting to eat more. The unfortunate result of this scenario is we want to eat something else with high sugar content. When we do, the cycle begins all over again.

THE EFFECTS OF INDIVIDUAL METABOLISM

(Israel)  has indicated that people have diverse reactions to ordinary foods which stem from the make-up ofwhich vary greatly from individual to individual.

Some study results:

  • even healthy foods, such as tomatoes, can cause blood sugar levels to surge in individuals
  • target group had highly variable responses to basic starchy foods such as bread and rice, with some people being much more carbohydrate sensitive than others
  • in target group some people saw their blood sugar levels fall on eating fat while others had a limited effect
  • eating ice-cream and pizza led to rises in blood sugar in some individuals, but not in others eating identical items

The researchers suggest that personalised diet plans may help people  getting good results from their diets.  The study shows that there’s no particular diet that fits all. How your body reacts is determined by your metabolism.

PERSONALIZE YOUR DIET

What’s a personalised diet and how to customize it for you is the main thing to help the struggle with your diet failures.  It isn’t the lack of  willpower that has caused the problems, in many cases the reason is that we respond very differently to everyday foods and it can generate unpredicted changes in our blood sugar levels and in our metabolism.

In general, eating dietary fibre was overall found to help reduce blood sugar levels, while a lack of sleep, highly salty diets, and having existing high cholesterol levels all had a negative effect on blood sugar.

Diet’s, such as which avoid carbohydrate-rich foods and prefers clean and natural foods with plenty of vegetables, fruits and natural fats can be beneficial to our healthy blood sugar levels and weight loss. However, it shall be taken into account the fact shown by researchers that we all respond very differently to assigned diets.
