Lower high blood sugar levels with the help of glycemic index food list

GI (Glycemic index) is a numerical index which ranks the carbohydrates on the basis of their glycemic response, which is the level to which specific foods increase the sugar levels. This index has a scale from 0 to 100, and foods which lead to a quicker increase of blood sugar levels have the highest values. Pure glucose has a GI of 100 and it is a reference point. Foods with high GI are quickly absorbed and digested thus causing changes in the sugar levels whereas foods with low GI are digested and absorbed slowly and they increase the sugar levels gradually. Foods with a low GI have numerous health benefits and they lower the insulin resistance and insulin levels, thus preventing the appearance of the abovementioned symptoms. Moreover, foods that have a low GI are great for weight loss because they delay hunger and control the appetite.
