As many of you know November is World Diabetes Month, however did you know that about 30 million people in North America are living with Diabetes? That’s a crazy high number, right?! I had no idea either. Making a few changes to our lifestyle and nutrition choices to help balance blood sugar levels and may help reduce our risk of developing diabetes.
A few members of my little family have a sweet tooth. Ok, not a few, all for of us do! So I guess you can say we are a Sweet Tooth Family. We don’t always indulge in our sweets cravings, I can usually sway my family away from sweets by serving fruits. The winning fruits are clementines, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Who can turn down those delicious fruits?! As a Sweet Tooth Family, Gabrielle & I are more into desserts and Sébastien & Emanuelle are into chocolate. We have been known to make chocolate chip cookies after supper because we all wanted something sweet. By making chocolate chip cookies, Gabrielle & I get the dessert we crave and Sébastien & Emanuelle get their chocolate. Win win, right?! NOT! As I mentioned, since I know that we like sweets, I try to avoid buying or making some. However, sometimes it feels like you body is saying I WANT SUGAR NOW! You know that feeling, right?! Basically it feels like your are off-balance.

You can make the recipe using oranges or kiwis, so I made a batch with kiwis for myself and a batch with oranges for the girls using Orange Naturals ND Shake Kids. I must say that the recipe was approved by both Mom and Kids! As soon as Gabrielle was finished her glass, she asked if I could make her some more! hehe She was not very impressed with me when I said she’d have to wait until tomorrow.
