Blood Sugar Levels Effects Diuretics

Civilian Health Promotion Services (CHPS) is a program providing free resources to help individuals maintain and improve their health and well-being. All CHPS services are free to AFMC Appropriated Fund Civilians. Active Duty, NAF Civilians, and Contractors are not eligible for screenings, but anyone can participate in health classes, fairs, etc. Active Duty can also participate in the quarterly challenges and access AFMCwellness.com.

The CHPS program is provided through a partnership between Air Force Materiel Command and Federal Occupational Health. Our commitment is to improve your quality of life, reduce your risk of preventable health conditions, increase your awareness of nutrition and health, and provide you opportunities for lifestyle changes through screenings and health education.

Wellness Screenings

Participating in the annual  screening is one of the most important steps you can take to help maintain your health. Knowing your cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure values—key indicators of current and future health status—is a great start to health awareness.

In addition to the CRP screening, CHPS offers regular blood pressure and body composition screenings. Only AFMC DoD Civilians are eligible to participate in screenings. Please bring your  Certificate of Completion to your screening.

Contact CHPS today to find out how to take advantage of these programs and/or to schedule a worksite screening.

Health Education Programs

CHPS offers a wide variety of health education topics. Classes cover a variety of health topics—such as nutrition, heart health, pain, sleep, oral health, stress, cancer, safety and chronic conditions— and actions to take to feel better and reduce risk of disease. Our classes typically run 30-60 minutes and can be presented in all types of settings. Anyone with base access can participate in our classes. Contact CHPS to schedule a worksite class or join us in any of the classes listed in our monthly Class Schedule.

Wellness Challenges/Health Awareness Campaigns

CHPS conducts several wellness challenges and health awareness campaigns each year. Our wellness challenges are designed to enhance a participant’s overall health and well-being through physical activity and weight management challenges. Health awareness campaigns highlight services provided by base helping agencies, while calling attention to important health issues.
