Blood Sugar Levels 2 Year Old

Dr. Oz of the popular Dr. Oz Show loves to share the benefits and healing powers of natural foods.  Over the course of several shows, he has mentioned several foods that may help control blood sugar which of course is very useful to those who are trying to control their diabetes. Here are some foods that you probably have in your cabinets now that you will start to think of differently!

Coffee. Dr. Oz said many studies have shown that coffee can help stabilize blood sugar reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Coffee can also improve liver function and cholesterol.  Enjoy up to  32 ounces of coffee a day.  Although caffeinated works best, decaffeinated coffee is also effective.

Peanut Butter. Dr. Oz says that eating peanut butter 5 times a week, can reduce your risk of diabetes by 20-30%. But make sure you use natural peanut butter because there are no added sugars and chemicals.  Here’s a tip to keep the natural peanut oil from separating.  Stir the peanut butter until the oil is equally distributed and then store in the refrigerator. Peanut butter is a great food loaded with other nutrients, but portion control is a must. Use this to view peanut butter’s other nutrients and calorie count.

Vinegar.  According to Dr. Oz, having a couple of teaspoons of vinegar with your lunch and dinner may help control your blood sugar. Studies have shown that vinegar slows that typical postmeal rising of blood sugar. So, keep a bottle of homemade vinegar and olive oil  salad dressing on your table to use on your salads and vegetables. The Italians had the right idea!

Cinnamon.  Dr. Oz says research shows that cinnamon can help those with type-2 diabetes by cinnamon’s ability to decrease blood sugar levels and lower cholesterol.  Start experimenting with ways to incorporate cinnamon in your diet. Try sprinkling some on your oatmeal and toast, in applesauce and in hot drinks.
