Low blood sugar is also called Hypoglycemia. Low blood sugar occurs when blood sugar levels falls to low. Blood sugar levels below 70 mg/dL are said to be low low blood sugar. Like high blood sugar, low blood sugar can also harm you. Diabetic people are at risk for low blood sugar.

Causes : Side effect of drugs used for the diabetes treatment is the one of the main cause of low blood sugar. Diabetic people need insulin to manage their blood sugar levels, especially type 1 diabetic people. If you take too much insulin than required amount, it can cause your blood sugar level to drop too low.

Diabetes medication may also cause hypoglycemia. If you exercise more or don’t eat enough, then also low blood sugar occurs.

Low blood sugar is less common in people without diabetes. There is no exact cause of Hypoglycemia in people without diabetes. It may be caused by medications, alcohol consumption, hormone deficiencies, etc.
