Blood Glucose Levels Typical

Finding a “clean”  low-GI sweetener can be a real challenge, especially if one is looking for a versatile product that can also be used in baking.

Say hello to Suji!

Suji (pronounced soojee) is blended from sugar fermented by enzymes that tighten the bonds between the fructose/glucose molecules, significantly slowing their breakdown and absorption in the gut (up to 40% slower than ordinary sugar).

As a result, Suji has a markedly lower impact on blood glucose levels, releasing energy in a balanced way that does not cause glucose/insulin levels to spike and suddenly drop.

Suji also contains small of amounts of xylitol and stevia to round off the flavour.

Suji has been tested as a Low-GI sweetener and has been approved by the GI Foundation of South Africa (Gifsa) as well as Diabetes SA.

Use Suji just as you would use ordinary sugar. And you can bake with it.

Available from Absolute Organix in 350g tubs. Sachets coming soon.
