Blood Glucose Levels Symptoms

Dr. Oz from The Dr. Oz Show has voiced his concern repeatedly over the obesity and diabetes crisis we are facing here in America. In his concern he has given us guidelines as tools we can use to improve and monitor our health. Some of those tools are knowing and monitoring . One important number we need to know is our fasting blood sugar level. That number will let us know when we may be at risk for diabetes.  So how do we get a daily blood sugar level reading without going to a doctor daily?

Your local pharmacy has the answer.  You are able to pick up the supplies you need to test your blood sugar at your local pharmacy without a prescription.  However your insurance may cover the cost with a doctor’s prescription.  Your doctor may instruct you to take regular readings, whether fasting in the morning when you wakeup and/or random readings through out the day.  You will need the following:

• A portable device called a Glucometer. They may cost anywhere from $9.99 for a store brand model to upwards of $75.00 for models with features needed for more serious medical conditions.
