The Goal: Best Result: No more meds! The Least Result: Drastic Reduction of Daily Meds.

Enough is Enough.

Although the doctors have made it clear that Type II Diabetes is mostly a lifestyle disease – And Curable with a lifestyle CHANGE- just getting used to the daily regalia of needles, pills and tracking has proven difficult.  Food Regimens have all begun with the greatest intentions.  New foods and recipes strategized and scrutinized to the point of precision, only to be derailed by a speed bump:  a seemingly insurmountable craving (self-sabotage), an illness or just apathy.

HAVE YOU BEEN HERE?

What about a program SPECIFICALLY for diabetics to help them through the tougher parts of their own body’s mental and physical sabotages and challenges? Can the body and mind be retrained by food?  Since the intake of food is most-likely what created Type II Diabetes in the first place, changing the food should fix it.  But, is that all? Would just a moderate “Reverse Engines” model achieve a cure?

  • Take all prescribed medications on time!
  • Watch ( all ) carbohydrate intake.
  • Daily Exercise

And, YES, he has been riding on the self-sabotage and physically run-down roller coaster since day one!

This disease does NOT make ANYTHING easy – except maybe gaining weight and becoming even more ill.

If sickness can be achieved with food, then health can be achieved, too.  Yes?  We are setting out to prove that.  What we have searched for is a program that addresses the idiosyncratic symptomology of a progressive disease.  As the body breaks down further, further remediation would be needed.  So, a one-size-fits-all “diet” wouldn’t necessarily work.  There are things we can do to help manage the disease, but from what we have seen first hand, they don’t necessarily help get you off of the bad ride.

We want DO-ABLE and  SCALEABLE changes  with TRACKABLE –  ACHIEVABLE RESULTS  that make the scary carny ride stop!

Here is where we have landed.

Tonight, my husband and I will begin to read this book and implement it’s practices and knowledge.  I will be back all along the way to discuss how things are going and how we are fairing with this “maybe” drastic change in lifestyle.  (Impending sarcasm).. not that sticking yourself with needles and swallowing pills twice a day every day isn’t drastic…

I say again  ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
